2020

Escultura utilitaria, cuya activación - a manera de fogata - celebra el rito primitivo de crear un espacio de reunión no confinado y lo traduce a un acto cotidiano.  La pieza de concreto fue colada in situ para la Feria de la Acción 2020 (CDMX) y cuya producción concluyó al activarse por primera vez quemando la cimbra que contenía el concreto. Este gesto hace referencia a la construcción de la Capilla de Campo de Bruder Klaus de Peter Zumthor, sin embargo se sustituye el objeto de la ceremonia divina por una terrenal. La escultura, en modificación constante por el fuego, liga a quienes la activan en diferentes tiempos, actuando como un contenedor de memorias colectivas y un vehículo del rito atemporal.

Utilitarian sculpture, whose activation - as a bonfire - celebrates the primitive rite of creating an unconfined meeting space and translates it into an everyday act. The concrete piece was cast in situ for the Feria de la Acción 2020 (CDMX) and whose production concluded when it was activated for the first time by burning the formwork that contained the concrete. This gesture refers to the construction of Peter Zumthor's Bruder Klaus Field Chapel, however the object of the divine ceremony is replaced by an earthly one. The sculpture, constantly modified by fire, binds those who activate it at different times, acting as a container for collective memories and a vehicle for the timeless ritual.
