LÍNEA Es la segunda etapa de 900 TERRITORIOS: un proyecto de largo aliento sobre la relación con el espacio desde la escritura y la ocupación espacial. Las “escrituras” fabuladas parten de variaciones de sistemas que ocupan el espacio subdividido por una retícula, la cual nace de la necesidad humana por medir y subdividir el espacio para comprenderlo y relacionarse con él. Compuesta por dibujos de tinta, esculturas de acero y bordados de hilo de algodón sobre lino, la exploración material de esta etapa parte de la concepción matemática en la que la línea carece de masa, por lo que la ocupación espacial es en realidad una representación. Así, las esculturas funcionan como dispositivos que se activan con el sol para “escribir” con sombras, mientras que los bordados de hilo pasan entre la trama del lino sin ocuparlo ni modificarlo. La serie hace también referencia a la obra de Sol Lewitt, Mirtha Dermisache y Matías Goeritz para cuestionar las diferentes asociaciones del uso de la línea desde lo caligráfico, lo tipográfico, lo geométrico y lo representativo.

LINE is the second stage of 900 TERRITORIES: a long-term project on the relationship with space from writing and spatial occupation. The fabled “writings” start from variations of systems that occupy the space subdivided by a grid, which parts from the human need to measure and subdivide space in order to understand it and relate to it. Composed of ink drawings, steel sculptures and cotton thread embroidery on linen, the material exploration of this stage is based on the mathematical conception in which the line lacks mass, so that the spatial occupation is actually a representation. Thus, the sculptures function as devices that are activated by the sun to “write” with shadows, while the thread embroideries pass through the weave of the linen without occupying or modifying it. The series also makes reference to the work of Sol Lewitt, Mirtha Dermisache and Matías Goeritz to question the different associations of the use of the line from the calligraphic, the typographic, the geometric and the representative.
